Ladislav Berka

After graduation he worked in the insurance company and wrote articles about film and photography for several magazines. Since the 1930s he has been a graphic editor and editor of a magazine. Just after the war he briefly wrote screenplays for movies. In 1929-1933 he created avant-garde photographs in the style of Functionalism and Neue Sachlichkeit. A distinctive feature of his photographs is the use of two-dimensional images. Together with Alexander Hackenschmied and Jiří Lehovec he was part of the Aventin Trio.
