Painter (Heinrich Hoerle)

Details

August Sander
Painter (Heinrich Hoerle), 1928
Gelatine Silver Print
Unique Exhibition Print
79.4 x 60.4 cm

This extraordinary exhibition print was made by Gunther Sander in 1972 for an exhibition to support the publication of “Menschen Ohne Masken.” We selected to show this only this work during Paris Photo 2017 and the response was overwhelming!

It is important to return to the basis of what the arts are here for, and this photograph showed that very clearly.
