Untitled (Woman playing Guitar), 1960 - 1970

G.P. Fieret was what we commonly call a madman. His work is marked by the jealousy of his own concerns. None the less he was most concerned with the process of making art. The photographs he created were more records and memories than they were objects in and of themselves. The joy with which he engaged his surroundings and his models is extraordinary.
In this image I see the uninhibited discovery of the guitar. In no way is the instrument used as what it was intended. It is like a frozen moment in a dance, or a moment of affection.
