On this year´s Paris Photo, Galerie Julian Sander is celebrating an extraordinary partnership!
The gallery announces the exclusive European representation of Rosalind Fox Solomon with a solo exhibition of her work. This special exhibition will contain a selection from the original traveling exhibition prints of her powerful project “Portraits in the time of AIDS”.
In addition, we are presenting a collection of her later works from the 1990’s to 2016.
We will also be showing the limited edition of “Catalin Valentin’s Lamb”, a special artists’ collaboration project between Rosalind Fox Solomon and Richard Minsky, which includes Fox Solomon’s journal text and other relevant material.
We are also happy to be collaborating with MUUS Collection, programming partner of the fair and custodian of the Rosalind Fox Solomon Collection, who will be presenting Rosalind Fox Solomon:
The Early Work, curated by Nathalie Herschdorfer, the director of Photo Elysée in Lausanne. This solo exhibition complements our offering as it showcases one of the artist’s earliest series, made
between 1972 and 1976 at the Scottsboro Alabama First Mondays Market.
Sarah Meister, executive director of Aperture Foundation, will be hosting an open conversation with Rosalind Fox Solomon as part of the Paris Photo Platform program.
Rosalind Fox Solomon’s work is in the permanent collections of more than 50 museums around the world, including the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris; Brooklyn Museum, New York; Center for Creative Photography, Tucson; the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington; Metropolitan Museum, New York; Museo de Arte de Lima; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Museum of Modern Art, New York; National Gallery of Art, Washington; National Gallery of Canada, Ontario; Photographische Sammlung, Cologne; the Rijks Museum, Amsterdam; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Her next book will be published by MACK in 2023.
