I am delighted to say that there will be a wonderful vintage print by August Sander coming up at Sothebys this spring. It is an image of Heinrich Hoerle whoc was a close friend and artistic colleague of August Sander in the 1920-30’s. I am particularly happy to see that the estimate is much closer to what I believe is the proper place for August Sanders vintage exhibition prints.
The little known fact is that there really are not all that many of these prints done by August out there. And of those that there are even fewer are available on market.
This will be an exciting sale for sure.
