The first segment of this series is an exhibition of the 60 photographs from August Sander’s first book, Antlitz der Zeit (Face of Our Time), published in 1929 by
Menschen des 20. Jahrhundert (People of the 20th Century), which was to be published later. In 1936, Antlitz der Zeit was condemned, the books were seized and the printing plates destroyed.
